Our Founder Story: Why We’re Building Sightline OS

Hi! I’m Yusha Hu, CEO at Sightline OS.

I spent years managing supply chains at Chipotle, sweetgreen, and HelloFresh, working across a wide variety of tools and platforms. Out of that experience, I started asking myself some questions: 

Why does implementation have to be long and arduous? 

What if software went beyond data visibility and could anticipate supply risk — and solve it?

What if it could find cost savings opportunities and help me act on them? 

What would it feel like to have a technology solution built to fit our work like a glove, and fully empower us to do our jobs?

With the advent of AI, I had a realization: it was time to stop asking questions and start building.

Sightline OS is the platform I wish I'd had at every job I've held in this industry. 

I bring the supply chain operator's scar tissue — the frustration of learning that "the forecast was wrong" is not considered a valid reason for an outage or excess product, the dropped stomach feeling when a key supplier announces they're stopping shipments immediately, the perpetual pressure to find ever-more-creative ways to beat back inflation and deliver annual cost savings. 

I also bring the operator's joy — the thrill of being the anchor customer for a grower building an innovative program that succeeds beyond all expectations, the relief when a commitment to resiliency and diversification pays off and we deliver an LTO without a hitch after our main supplier loses capacity, the pride of watching my team grow into leaders who drive the industry forward.

But it isn't just my story. I'm fortunate to have the right cofounders to realize this vision together: Derrick is a software engineer and product builder who knows how to make technology stick, and Louis is a machine learning engineer who understands deeply how to solve problems with AI.

We're building the tool I wish I'd had with our teams: an AI-native supply chain planning and management platform for forecasting, inventory optimization, and COGS management.

We're early, and we have a big vision for what's ahead. But our first customers — including Din Tai Fung and Bonchon — are already seeing what's possible when AI gives you the time and clarity to stop being reactive and start building the supply chain your brand deserves.
